Illinois is providing more funding to support migrants.
Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Human Services announced 17-million-dollars in additional funding for municipalities outside of Chicago that are welcoming asylum seekers.
The funds will be used for emergency needs, such as food and winter clothing.
It will also cover temporary shelter, emergency triage, case management, legal services, health screenings and more.
