INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Fuel emcee Scott Alan has died.
Fuel owner Jim Hallett announced that Alan had died via an open letter to fans on Tuesday. In his letter, Hallett wrote that Alan was killed in “an auto accident.”
“It is with a somber heart that I reach out to you today to share the tragic news of the passing of our beloved colleague and friend, Scott Alan,” Hallett wrote. “Scott’s sudden departure due to an auto accident on Monday has left us all in a state of shock and sorrow. Scott has been a cornerstone of the Fuel family from the very beginning, his voice, and presence gracing us for all 10 seasons.”
Hallett’s letter stated that Alan was going to become the first employee hired by the Bloomington Bison — a startup ECHL team in Illinois that Hallett also owns.
