The Longmont Public Safety Emergency Response Management team is hosting a Community Emergency Response Team Basic Training course for free.
The class takes place in Longmont from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 9, 16 and 23.
CERT training helps community members learn in-depth skills in the event of a disaster. It allows participants to help themselves and assist families, neighbors and the community before, during and after disasters.
All participants must be 18 or older. Preference will be given to individuals who work and live in Longmont.
Registration closes Sept. 7, at noon or when the class reaches its capacity. There are 30 available seats for the class.
Students must attend all sessions to complete the certification. To register or learn more about the opportunity, visit the program’s website.
