A Longmont man was arrested and accused of possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material.
Juan Ramon Aranda, 37, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of sexual exploitation of a child — distribution and sexual exploitation of a child — possession.
According to a release from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, the Colorado Internet Crimes Against Children task force received information about the distribution or possession of child sex abuse material from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
A search warrant for Aranda’s home in the 200 block of East 8th Avenue was served on Jan. 26, and police said they recovered additional evidence.
The the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder County District Attorney’s Office, Boulder Police Department and Longmont Department of Public Safety all participated in the investigation.
Aranda’s booking photo was not immediately available.
