With just one loss on the season coming into Saturday’s Class 6A state championship game at the Denver Coliseum, the Monarch girls basketball team looked like a team of destiny. But Grandview, a state champion last year in 5A, was going to have a say in it. The Coyotes’ Natalie Guanella, pictured here driving around Grandview’s Lexi Yi during the game, gave it all she had, but in the end it was the Wolves celebrating a 38-28 victory while Monarch was left embracing each other in defeat.
