For the second straight year, the University of Hawai’i men’s basketball team will be in Kaua’i to conduct a free clinic for the local keiki. Head coach Eran Ganot, his staff and student-athletes will be on hand to provide instruction on Saturday, July 29 from 9 a.m. to noon at Kauai High School gym.
The clinic is open to boys and girls 6th grade and younger. To register, contact Teddy Arroyo at teddyarroyo96766@gmail.com.com. All campers will receive a UH t-shirt, while supplies last.
“”Kauai is special and the opportunity to bring our program back is an absolute honor in so many ways,” Ganot said. “Last year we had a tremendous turnout and the community welcomed us with open arms. The keiki were a joy to work with and we look forward to building upon the great relationships we were able to make. Being able to immerse our staff and student-athletes into the incredible culture is something we will never forget and a big reason we can’t wait to return and make this an annual event. We take great pride in representing all the islands and we would like to thank all the sponsors and organizers for helping make this happen once again.”
“Mahalo to Coach Ganot and the student-athletes for volunteering their time and expertise to teach our keiki on Kaua’i,” said Senate President Ronald D. Kouchi (District 8 – Kaua’i, Ni’ihau). “Unique opportunities such as this clinic can be a life-changing experience and I look forward to the day when these keiki find their way to playing for the Rainbow Warriors.”
“This is an incredible opportunity for our Kaua’i youth to meet these all-star players, learn new skills, and be inspired to work hard in achieving their goals,” said Kaua’i Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami. “We are grateful to the UH team, Coach Ganot, and the many sponsors for offering this clinic once again here on Kaua’i. We know it will be an experience of a lifetime, one that will leave a lasting impact on our keiki.”
