HONOLULU–The University of Hawai’i men’s tennis team completed Part 1 of the UH-HPU Invitational on Sunday morning at the UH Tennis Complex.

On the second day of the Invitational, Hawai’i Pacific came out strong. Andy Hernandez was the lone Rainbow Warriors who won both his singles and doubles matches. Hernandez combined with Quinn Snyder to defeat HPU’s Jakub Beran and Jim Walder, 6-3. Hernandez then swept the Sharks’ Mile Matic in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3

UH’s Snyder was edged out by HPU’s Walder in a second set tie-breaker, 6-2, 7-6 (3), while after winning the first set, Hawai’i Guillaume Tattevin fell in three to Beran, 1-6, 6-0, 7-5. 

Six of the Rainbow Warriors will head to Malibu, Calif. to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regionals starting on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023 at Pepperdine’s Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
