HONOLULU – The University of Hawai’i men’s volleyball team announced its 2024 schedule which includes 28 regular season matches and 19 home contests at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
In addition, UH will host the Big West Championship for the fourth time which runs April 18-20 at SimpliFi Arena.
The Rainbow Warriors will play four teams from the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association in 2024 beginning with a season-opening two-match home series against Loyola, Jan. 3 & 5. UH will also travel to road matches at Purdue Fort Wayne, Jan. 25-26, and Ball State, Jan. 28.
The 28th Outrigger Resorts Invitational, one of the nation’s premiere in-season tournaments, will feature Lewis of the MIVA, Grand Canyon of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, and UC Irvine and Hawai’i of the Big West Conference. The tournament runs March 7-8, and 10.
In their ongoing effort to grow the game of men’s volleyball, the Rainbow Warriors will host several first-time opponents, fifth-year program Tusculum, Feb. 2 & 4 and second-year program Missouri S&T, Feb. 22-23. Tusculum and Missouri S&T are both independents.
UH’s other non-conference opponents include Conference Carolinas’ Emmanuel University, Jan. 10 & 12, Stanford of the MPSF, Feb. 7 & 9, and Sacred Heart of the Northeast Conference, March 1 & 3.
Hawai’i begins its seventh season in the Big West with a two-match series at rival Long Beach State, March 15-16 at The Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, Calif. UH returns for consecutive home series against CSUN, March 22-23, and UC Santa Barbara, March 29-30, before closing out league play on the road at UC Irvine, April 5-6, and UC San Diego, April 12-13.
The Big West Championship returns to Mānoa for the third time in the last four seasons. The new eight-team NCAA Championship runs April 30, May 2 & 4 in Long Beach, Calif.
Season tickets for the 2024 season will go on sale in the coming weeks.
