Police execute narcotics search warrant in Longmont home – Boulder D…

Longmont police executed a narcotics search warrant in a home Friday morning.

Robin Ericson, spokesperson for Longmont Public Safety, said officers obtained a search warrant for a home in the 1600 block of Lashley Street. The police arrived at the home at 10 a.m. and tried “multiple strategies” to get the occupant — a man — to vacate the property.

The man was uncooperative, and the police deployed a chemical agent inside the home to force him out. According to Ericson, the agent used an irritant to the eyes and nasal passages, similar to pepper spray, but that only a small amount was used indoors and it was unlikely to have impacted people nearby.

There was a large police presence in the area during the search. After officers searched the home, Ericson said no arrest was made. Charges were still pending as of Friday evening.

The incident remains under investigation, and no information has been publicly released about the results of the search.
