Police are investigating after several vehicles were broken into in Norwich early Friday.
Calls started coming into the Norwich Police Department dispatch just before 4 a.m. Friday, reporting break-ins throughout the city, according to police.
More and more break-ins were reported over the next several hours “as vehicle owners woke up to discover they had been victimized,” police said.
The break-ins happened in various parts of the city and items were stolen from several vehicles, according to police.
Norwich police were working with other local law enforcement agencies to continue what they called a “complex investigation.”
Similar sprees of vehicle break-ins have recently been reported in Rocky Hill, Middletown and New Haven, according to police.
Anyone with information about the break-ins in Norwich is asked to contact police at 860-886-5561.
