The Rainbow Wahine then had an 11-day break between matches to recharge for the conference opener.

• UH enters the week leading the Big West with 2.2 goals per match. UH’s 11 goals so far this season is the team’s highest total through five matches since 2012 when the ‘Bows scored 12.

• CSUN makes the trip to Hawai’i with an 11-6-1 lead in the all-time series with UH, which dates back to 1997. Hawai’i has won three of the last four meetings going back to 2018, including last year’s 1-0 victory at Matador Soccer Field in Northridge, Calif. UH forward Krista Peterson scored the decisive goal in the 49th minute.

• UH sophomore Amber Gilbert scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season in the tie with UNLV. Gilbert has matched her season total of last year when she was named to the Big West All-Freshman team. Her goal total is tied for second in the Big West.

• Senior goalkeeper Sophie Augustin came up with a season-high seven saves, five coming in the second half, to help preserve the tie at UNLV. Augustin ranks fourth in the Big West with 5.00 saves per game.

• CSUN is coming off of a 3-0 loss to No. 4 UCLA on Sunday in Northridge, Calif. UCLA outshot CSUN 24-2 and took five shots on goal to none for the Matadors. CSUN scored its first goal of the season in a 5-1 loss to Idaho on Sept. 7. The Matadors’ eight opponents this season have a combined record of 30-16-12.

• UH placed seventh in the Big West Women’s Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll, matching last year’s finish in the conference standings. The ‘Bows closed 2022 at 6-6-3 overall and 3-4-3 in Big West play.  CSUN was voted 10th in the preseason poll.
