EAST CHICAGO — A 30-year-old East Chicago elementary school teacher was shot in the stomach early Sunday by another woman while dropping off her boyfriend in the 3500 block of Block Avenue, Police Chief Jose Rivera said.
Vanessa Vasquez, of Whiting, reportedly told police she had bonded her boyfriend out of the Lake County Jail and took him home when she was approached by Martina Martinez, 27, of Hobart.
