Severe storms expected this afternoon!

It was a muggy and mild night with a passing downpour in some towns, now its all about the storm threat this afternoon.

After some morning clouds on Sunday, some hazy sun will break out along with hot and humid conditions. Some Severe Thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon, so be ready to head inside to stay safe! Damaging winds will be the main threat, along with torrential rain, lots of lightning, hail and low chance for a tornado somewhere in the tri-state area. There may be a few rounds of storms, with the total timeframe between about 2 PM-8PM

Beautiful and pleasant weather returns to start July early next week! There could be a few storms around on the 4th but a washout does NOT seem likely at this point.

We are watching HURRICANE BERYL intensifying and heading for the Windward Islands with another two systems in the Atlantic for your tropical weather scene.

NOTE: Beryl is MAJOR HURRICANE as it crosses the Windward Islands (Martinique) and heads south of Puerto Rico and takes aim at Jamaica next week! Very early in the Hurricane Season for this to happen!! Stay Tuned!!

Sunday: Morning clouds and very humid thru the day. Some sun will break out in the afternoon along with some downpours and thunderstorms. Some of the storms will be strong to severe with torrential rain, lots of lightning, hail and strong gusty winds that may do damage. Highs in the 80s to near 90 inland.

Tonight: Cloudy and muggy with occasional rain and storms ending early. Lows in the 60s.

Monday: Mix of sunshine and & clouds and much less humid. Highs near 80. A great way to kick off the holiday week!

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, pleasant, and seasonable. High 80-85

Wednesday: Partly to mostly sunny, very warm, with the humidity rising. Highs 85-90.

4th of July: Partly sunny, hazy, hot, and humid. A spot AM shower and pop-up late-day thunderstorm is possible. NOT a washout as of now! highs 85 to 90.

Friday: Clouds, some sun. Downpours/storms possible. highs in the 80s.

Saturday: Sun and clouds with some showers possible highs in the mid 80s.
