TACOMA, Wash. – University of Hawai’i sophomore Wendy Song is tied for 11th place after the first two rounds of the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational Monday at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club.
The Hsinchu, Taiwan native carded rounds of 2-over 74 and 1-under 71 for a 1-over 145 total. Song, who posted seven birdies and eight bogeys on the day, is four strokes behind leaders Morgan Ryan of Wyoming and Gabby Kano of Nevada, who are 3-under 141 through 36 holes.
As a team, the Rainbow Wahine are in 16th place in the 21-team field at 601 (304-297). Nevada is atop the team standings at 580 followed by Santa Clara (582), UC Irvine (584), Grand Canyon (586), and Cal State Fullerton (591).
UH’s Focus Jonglikit carded a second round 73 and is 7-over 151 and tied for 46th place. Kellie Yamane shot 77 and 76 for a 153 in her UH debut and is tied for 62nd. Jordyn Parr posted consecutive rounds of 77 and is tied for 69th at 154 while Emiko Sverduk shot 76 and 81 for a 157 total and is tied for 86th.
The third and final round begins with an 8:00 a.m. PT shotgun start.
