U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville said that if elected, he wants to make Alabama’s capital a safer place to live and work.

In comments Wednesday, Tuberville said Montgomery officials aren’t handling public safety well — and the state may need to step in. He said he told the Mayor Steven Reed that “the cavalry was coming.”
