IDAHO FALLS – Two people were arrested at a hotel on Tuesday after being found with fentanyl and cocaine in their room.

Sadie Jo Richards, 26, of Tetonia, was charged with two counts of felony possession of fentanyl, one count of felony possession of cocaine, and a misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Gustavo Sedano-Olivas, 30, of Tetonia, was booked with two outstanding felony warrants, a third warrant for failure to appear at a hearing, one count of felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Tuesday morning, Bonneville County Sheriff deputies responded to Le Ritz Hotel on Lindsay Boulevard after obtaining a search warrant for one of the hotel rooms.

According to a news release from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, after deputies entered the room, they detained three adults, two of whom were Richards and Sedano-Olivas.

Sedano-Olivas was reportedly found “asleep on the bed and showing multiple signs of being under the influence of narcotics,” so an Idaho Falls ambulance was called as a safety precaution.

During a search of the room, deputies reportedly found a carry bag believed to belong to Richards, and containing “items of drug paraphernalia, a small baggie with just over ½ gram of cocaine, and two separate baggies with multiple fentanyl or “dirty 30” pills inside weighing more than 6 grams total” according to the news release.

According to deputies, another bag that reportedly belonged to Sedano-Olivas contained “more drug paraphernalia, and four separate baggies with multiple fentanyl “dirty 30” pills inside, altogether weighing over 80 grams.”

Deputies also found over $1,000 cash.

The third man inside the room was released pending further investigation into his involvement with the hotel room.

Richards was transported to the Bonneville County Jail, where she was booked with a bond of $30,000.

She is expected to appear for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 31. If convicted, she could face up to 22 years in prison.

Sedano-Olivas was also transported to the Bonneville County Jail, where his bond has not yet been set. He is expected to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 31. If convicted, he could face at least eight years in prison.

“This incident adds to the more than 100,000 fentanyl Pills seized by law enforcement in Bonneville County this year,” states the release. “The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office continues to remind the public fentanyl is highly lethal and is a factor in multiple overdose cases and deaths in our area over the past several years.”

Deputies urge the public to educate themselves and their kids about the dangers of fentanyl and illegal drugs by visiting websites such as www.fentanyltakesall.org and www.dea.gov/onepill and report illegal drug activity to your local law enforcement or East Idaho Crime Stoppers, online at www.ifcrime.org or through the P3tips App on your mobile device.
