UNLV football’s attendance dipped in 2025, despite the team going 10-4 and making its third straight bowl appearance last season.
The Rebels six home games in 2025 drew a total attendance of 116,296, or an average of 19,383 per game, in coach Dan Mullen’s first season at UNLV, according to Las Vegas Stadium Authority data.
That’s a 17 percent decrease over 2024, where UNLV drew 139,747 fans in six homes games, in former coach Barry Odom, when the Rebels went 10-3 under the now coach of Purdue.
UNLV’s 2025 attendance was higher than the other three seasons UNLV has played at Allegiant Stadium, with 2023 seeing a total attendance of 108,419, 2024 with 80,419 and 2021 drawing 93,652, according to stadium authority data.
The authority’s data is actual attendance, or fans that scanned their tickets at a gate at Allegiant Stadium and differs from announced attendance which accounts for any tickets sold to the game, even if a ticket holder doesn’t show up, and it includes staff and media members present at each game.
Waterfall payment
UNLV received $3.6 million from the stadium authority to supplement football revenue generated at Allegiant Stadium during the 2025 season and a makeup payment tied to when one did not occur in the aftermath of the COIVD-19 pandemic and Clark County had to tap the reserve fund to make two Allegiant Stadium bond payments.
As part of the joint-use agreement between UNLV and the Raiders, when $750 million in public funding was approved for the construction of of Allegiant Stadium a waterfall fund was set up from stadium room tax revenue that’s generated in a year that doesn’t go toward paying down the bonds Clark County took out to provide the Raiders with the public funding.
The fund is used for multiple reasons, including to help pay for stadium upgrades and to pay UNLV up to $3.5 million for any season the Rebels don’t generate at least $5 million in revenue in a season at home games.
In 2024, UNLV football home games generated $3.8 million in revenue, resulting in a $1.2 million payout. In 2023, UNLV received a nearly $2.4 million payment, after pulling in $2.6 million in football game revenue.
The revenue report for the 2025 season was not yet available.
The waterfall fund payments are available for the first 10 years UNLV plays at Allegiant Stadium.
Memphis game approved
UNLV game with Memphis on Aug. 29 at Allegiant Stadium was approved by the stadium authority.
UNLV’s non-conference home opponents must be approved by the stadium authority after conferring with the Raiders, as the NFL team has operational control of the stadium and must ensure college football games don’t interfere with NFL games or other major events.
