The Top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (7-0, 4-0 in SEC) are set to take on the Florida Gators (5-2, 3-1 in SEC) in The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. Kickoff in Jacksonville is set for 3:30 p.m. ET, televised on CBS.
Georgia doesn’t enter the rivalry matchup healthy as the injury situation has consistently plagued the Bulldogs throughout the season.
Star tight end Brock Bowers will miss the first game of his career after suffering an ankle injury that required TightRope surgery. While Bowers will be missed, there are a couple of key Bulldogs that are close to returning to the lineup.
Here’s our updated Georgia injury report, including recent quotes from head coach Kirby Smart:
RB Kendall Milton
Injury: Ankle
Status: Probable
Milton aggravated a MCL strain against Vanderbilt and didn’t return to the lineup. The senior tailback has been practicing and is expected to suit up on Saturday.
“Kendall was good last week. He pushed through. Did a good job. We’ll see where he is today (Monday).”
OT Xavier Truss
Injury: Ankle
Status: Questionable
Truss exited the Vanderbilt game due to an ankle injury and didn’t return. He has practiced in a limited capacity over the bye week.
“Xavier is probably ahead of Mims… And Truss has been out there both days (Monday/Tuesday).”
RB Roderick Robinson
Injury: Ankle
Status: Questionable
Robinson has missed the last four games due to an ankle injury suffered in Week 3. The true freshman practiced more over the bye week and there’s a chance we see him in Jacksonville.
“Rod was able to go a lot of last week (in practice).”
OT Amarius Mims
Injury: Ankle
Status: Out
Mims underwent TightRope surgery for an ankle injury suffered in Week 3. It seems like Mims, who has returned to practice in a limited capacity, is on track with his recovery.
“Xavier is probably ahead of Mims, which is what we expected, but I was really pleased with Mims. He pushed really hard today (Tuesday) and got out there, got some work in…”
OLB Darris Smith
Injury: Undisclosed
Status: Out
According to Smart, Smith is currently not with the team after missing the last two games for undisclosed reasons.
DL Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins
Injury: Foot
Status: Out
Ingram-Dawkins has been out of the lineup since suffering a foot injury in Week 1. Our last update on the redshirt sophomore from Smart came in Week 6.
“It’s a significant injury. He’s had a four-week shutdown. I think we’ll be on five. He’s going to start doing a little more next week, more being jogging and what I call weight bearing, not necessarily practice.”
TE Brock Bowers
Injury: Ankle
Status: Out
Bowers underwent TightRope surgery to repair an ankle injury following the Vanderbilt game. His estimated timetable for return is 4-to-6 weeks.
RB Branson Robinson
Injury: Knee
Status: Out for season
Robinson will miss the 2023 season due to a torn patella tendon suffered in fall camp.
