HONOLULU — The University of Hawai’i women’s basketball team’s first homestand of the season continues with the three-day Rainbow Wahine Showdown.
The Rainbow Wahine (1-3) open the Thanksgiving weekend tournament by taking on Air Force (3-1) at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24 at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. The ‘Bows then face Idaho State (2-2) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., and close the tournament with a matchup against Washington (4-0) at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

• UH went 1-1 in the Bank of Hawai’i Classic to open the homestand, with a win over San Francisco on Nov. 17 and a loss to Idaho two days later. UH forward Imani Perez and forward/center Brooklyn Rewers were named to the all-tournament team.
• Rewers continues to lead UH with 11.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game over her first four games in the program after transferring from Michigan State. Last weekend, the 6-foot-4 junior posted 16 points and eight rebounds in UH’s 65-51 win over San Francisco and had nine rebounds and a career-high four blocks in the 50-40 loss to Idaho.
• Perez, a 6-4 sophomore, put together an efficient offensive performance in the Bank of Hawai’I Classic. She went 7-for-9 from the field and 3-for-4 from 3-point range in the two-game tournament. She grabbed 10 rebounds in the win over San Francisco and led UH with 12 points on 4-for-5 shooting in a loss to Idaho. She’s second on the team with 8.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game and is averaging a team-high 30 minutes per game.
• UH is 2-0 against Air Force with both wins coming in 1997 when the ‘Bows and Falcons were members of the Western Athletic Conference.
• UH is 3-1 against Idaho State with the Bengals picking up their first win in the series 64-62 in overtime on Dec. 8, 2017 in Pocatello, Idaho.
• The series between UH and Washington is tied 4-4. The ‘Bows won the last meeting 62-50 on Dec. 8, 2019 in Seattle in UH’s last win over a Power-5 conference opponent.
