Four people were killed by gunfire across Chicago over the weekend, while more than a dozen others were injured in other shootings.
According to Chicago Police Department data, 21 people were struck by gunfire in 19 separate shooting incidents between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m Sunday.
An unknown man was killed inside a vehicle in the 7800 block of South Jeffery Boulevard. He was inside a vehicle in a nearby alley when he shot just before 11 p.m. Friday. He was pronounced dead on scene.
A 23-year-old man was fatally shot in the 3400 block of South 24th Street at around 4:45 p.m. Saturday. He was standing near the sidewalk in that area when he was struck by a bullet in the head. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Officers responding to a report of shots fired at around 1 a.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of South Paulina Street found a 21-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his neck and body. He was hospitalized in critical…
