IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Illinois men’s and women’s track and field teams finished the final day of the Larry Wieczorek Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 20. Junior Kelsey Rothas moved up to fourth in the Illinois pole vault record book with her 4.10m (13-5 1/4) mark today. She earned bronze in today’s competition with this new indoor season personal-best.
Junior Tori Thomas has won the pole vault in all three of her appearances this season; today she did so with a 4.30m (14-1 1/4). Sophomore Mia Morello placed second at 4.20m (13-9 1/4).
Junior Jessica McDowell sprinted to second place in the 400m dash (53.46), sophomore Tadeas Placek also earned silver on the men’s side (47.98). Sophomore Viktor Morozov walked away a silver medalist in the triple jump, 15.29m (50-2).
