Here’s the thing that gets me: this isn’t really about smarter tech. It’s about slower trust. We used to lean on our own eyes to sort real from fake. Now that’s optional. We’re outsourcing the judgment call to a little tag in the corner of the screen. Handy, sure, but also worth noticing. If everyone from tech companies to public figures can just say “label it and move on,” what happens to actually looking closely?
