As is becoming a regular occurrence in the crypto space, yet another crime has been committed involving cryptocurrency.

The victim involved is an anonymous cryptocurrency multimillionaire who ended up jumping from his second-floor balcony after an armed robber took point to his apartment.

It was reported by the local broadcaster TV 2 over the weekend that the crime had occurred. According to them, the attempted robbery actually happened on May 14th this year. To attacker allegedly entered the victim’s apartment building and rang directly to his flat number. The millionaire then proceeded to open the door and was met with a man wielding a double-barreled shotgun.

The suspect said, “Lie down, or I’ll shoot.” 

No bullets were actually fired though and the victim was able to escape by jumping off his balcony onto the street below however, it’s unknown as to whether he was injured during the escape.

As reported by CoinTelegraph:

“The defendant’s assistant attorney has refused to comment on the matter.

While details of the victim’s professional life are not reported, he is said to be the general manager and owner of the board at an unnamed business in the cryptocurrency sector.”

The local news outlet has said that the victim initially ame to the publics knowledge through success in the finance sector but specifically with cryptocurrency. The lawyer of the suspect has said that the client has denied everything in regards to the crime but a hearing will occur on 17th-18th October.

The rise in the price of cryptocurrencies has been often accompanied by an increase of general interest by big institutional investors but it seems criminals aren’t far away either.
