House committee came to Boulder for first field hearing
City of Boulder Mayor Suzanne Jones recently testifed before the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis on the subject “Colorado’s Roadmap for Clean Energy Action: Lessons from State and Local Leaders.”
The Aug. 1 hearing at the University of Colorado Boulder’s Wittemyer Courtroom was open to the public and steamed live online and a recording of the hearing can be found on the committee’s website.
“Urgent action is needed at the local, state and federal levels and in all sectors of society to address the threat of climate change and safeguard the well-being of our communities,” said Mayor Jones. “I am honored to testify before the committee and share Boulder’s accomplishments—and our challenges—with the transition to clean energy. It’s a testament to our community’s climate leadership that we were selected to host this important hearing.”
Other witnesses scheduled to speak at the hearing included Jared Polis, Governor of Colorado, Wade Troxell, Mayor of Fort Collins and Heidi VanGenderen, Chief Sustainability Officer for the University of Colorado-Boulder.
