This second video for Chateau Vert documents highlights from the first few days of summer 2012’s apprenticeship pilot program at the chateau in Le Blanc, France. The youth participants provide reflections in this short documentary-style piece.

Chateau Vert is a 501(c)3 non-profit study-abroad trade apprenticeship program dedicated to helping ’emancipated’ foster children ages 18 – 24 receive the attention, mentoring, education and support they desperately need to successfully transition into adulthood. At the 17th century French chateau, our foster kids are taught back-to-basics life and marketable skills. Our mission and vision is to prepare these vulnerable young adults for better paying, long term jobs and to see them build character with qualities such as confidence, patience, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, discipline and the pursuit of excellence.
