Two people who died in a domestic violence shooting early Saturday in the southeast Las Vegas Valley have been identified as Luis Sanchez, 62, and Josephine Isaacson, 70, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.

The Metropolitan Police Department said officers were called at 3:28 a.m. to a house in the 5000 block of Haystack Drive, near South Nellis Boulevard and East Tropicana Avenue. A woman had called police reporting that a man was armed with a gun.

Officers arrived and were attempting to enter the home when they heard a gunshot. After police got inside, they found a man and woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, police said. Both died at the scene.

“Through the course of the investigation, detectives determined a male killed his girlfriend and then shot himself,” police said.

The coroner’s office said Isaacson died of a shotgun wound to the chest. Her manner of death was deemed a homicide. Sanchez also died of a shotgun wound to the chest. His death was determined to be a suicide.
