Former Illini guard Da’Monte Williams is officially one of Peoria’s newest police officers.
Williams graduated this week from Illinois’ Police Training Institute after being sworn in as an office in August.
Illinois head coach Brad Underwood posted about the ceremony for Williams on Thursday on X, writing: “His desire to learn & ability to listen not only made him a good teammate but a great person. Peoria has so much to be proud of. Monte left an incredible impact on this program & I know he’ll leave an even bigger one on the communities he’s going to serve.”
