My idea behind this work is to do as much as possible with axes. First I have roughed the timbers from round to rectangular in the old fashioned way using some axes for the purpose. Next is to fashion the joinery, mostly mortice and tenon but also half laps along with various rabbeted areas for openings in the walls, that is to say doors and hatches etc…. By coincidence more than conscious choice most axes used have Scandinavian origins. A lot of it is work on that old proficiency curve. What do you think?
