Officials dealt with another assault Monday at Landmark Middle School in Moreno Valley, almost one month after an assault there left a boy fatally injured and the community seeking solutions to campus bullying.

Two girls, 13- and 12-years-old, approached and assaulted a girl during lunch, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. The school’s resource officer responded to the incident and the two girls were booked into Riverside County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of battery.

The Sheriff’s Department said the girl who was assaulted was treated by the school nurse for minor abrasions and complaints of pain. The student was then released.

Diego Stolz, 13, was attacked on Sept. 16, and pronounced clinically dead on Sept. 24. Landmark parents attended meetings and vigils after the attack on Diego to decry bullying at the school.
