A high surf advisory is in effect till Tuesday at 6 a.m. for north-facing shores of Hawai‘i Island.

Large breaking waves of 12 to 16 feet are expected from Upolu Point in North Kohala to Cape Kumukahi in Puna. These strong currents will make swimming dangerous.

Head all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don’t go out.
