A 6-year-old boy was attacked by a homeless man while he sat outside his grandfather’s home, WCBS reports.The suspect, Laurance Gendreau, is facing assault and harassment charges. The 35-year-old is emotionally disturbed, police say.The victim’s father, Yaakov Portnoy, told WCBS Gendreau approached his son while the boy was waiting for a pizza delivery outside with his 10-year-old brother.“I was told that he picked him up in the air and threw him down into the ground and he banged his head fairly badly,” he said. “He has two fractures in his skull, collapsed lung.”According to reports, the suspect is seen on surveillance video after the incident a few blocks away. The boy’s grandfather is seen close behind and on the phone with 911.Police arrested Gendreau soon after.Portnoy asked that everyone keep his son in their prayers as he recovers.“Kindness and good deeds would be great. That’s all I can ask for,” Portnoy said.
