Growing up in the public eye is never easy, and some celebrities just seem to fall apart as they get older. That has been the scenario for Lindsay Lohan, a young and talented child actress that many fell in love with. Her issues with drinking, theft, drugs, rehab, and the law though have created some serious issues for her image and for the future of her acting career.
Lohan was born July 2, 1986, and started modeling when she was 3 years old. When she was 10 she got her first acting role. It was on the soap Opera Another World and lasted for a year. She was cast in her first film in 1998, the Disney remake of The Parent Trap which was very successful. She was also cast in the remake of Disney’s Freaky Friday in 2003 and then she did Mean Girls in 2004.

By 2006 there were rumors in the tabloids about Lohan having issues with her parents and with the use of drugs. Yet nothing was really confirmed until 2010 when she got into trouble with the law for theft of a necklace. Given the fact that she is worth millions, it was a red flag that something was definitely wrong for her. She received probation for the theft but had to return to court on various occasions for violations of her probation.

In 2007, Lohan was back in court for a DUI and cocaine possession charge. She was placed on 3 years probation, given fines to pay, and had to complete community service. She admitted at that time that she had made back choices due to the use of drugs and alcohol. However, several times she has taken herself out of rehab programs instead of completing them.
It has been difficult for Lohan to secure roles in films due to her legal and personal problems. She is deemed as being unreliable and unpredictable. Some producers won’t work with her unless she passes sobriety/drug screening tests and she has additional liability insurance. In 2012 she had a short part in Scary Movie 5 and she has been working on some low budget independent films. She also posed in Playboy in 202 with a pose similar to that of Marilyn Monroe.

There is still hope that Lindsay Lohan will get the help she needs for her issues before it is too late. Too many young celebrities have been on a downward spiral that they didn’t recover from. She has the support of family, fans, and even many people who have acted with her. She also has access to the best professionals available but in the end it is up to her to make the right decisions.
