Man found dead after Rogers Park apartment fire, Chicago police say

A man was found dead Monday morning after a Rogers Park apartment fire, according to Chicago police.

Police responded to a fire at an apartment complex in the 1900 block of West Fargo Avenue at about 2:20 a.m. While firefighters extinguished the blaze, they discovered an adult man in the building’s basement.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
