CHRIS: RIGHT NOW, FLORIDA HIGHWAY TROOPERS ARE BLOCKING OFF ALL THE WESTBOUND LANES HERE ON WEST COLONIAL DRIVE. THIS IS JUST BEFORE POWERS DRIVE. THIS HAPPENED TONIGHT, SO THE DETAILS ARE VERY FRESH. TROOPERS SAY ONE PERSON IS DEAD, AND THE DRIVER OF A CAR APPEARS TO BE ON THE SCENE AND WORKING WITH TROOPERS. WE DON’T KNOW IF THIS CAR PARKED FARTHER AHEAD WITH FRONT END BUMPER DAMAGE AND POSSIBLY DAMAGE TO THE WINDSHIELD IS THE CAR THAT HIT A PEDESTRIAN, BUT IT IS RIGHT NEXT TO A FLORIDA HIGHWAY TROOPER. THE NEAREST CROSSWALK IS MARKED ABOUT 150 FEET AWAY FROM WHERE WE BELIEVE THIS PEDESTRIAN CRASH TOOK PLACE, BUT IT IS TOO EARLY TO TELL WHO THE PERSON WAS THAT IS THE VICTIM IN THIS WRECK. AS SOON

A pedestrian was struck and killed on West Colonial Drive near Charles Street on Friday night, authorities confirmed.Florida Highway Patrol said the crash was not a hit-and-run. Lt. A pedestrian was struck and killed on West Colonial Drive near Charles Street on Friday night, authorities confirmed.

Florida Highway Patrol said the crash was not a hit-and-run. Lt. Kim Montes confirmed the car involved was parked near Colonial Drive and Powers after the crash.
