My wife and I are expecting our first child. We were going to use her old crib but, once we got it we discovered it was a drop side crib. It also has a broken rail, but the crib is solid maple and we both really like it. I want to rebuild this thing as a solid crib and am wondering if it is worth it. I always wanted to build a crib for our child but knew I did not have the ability to build one from scratch, but with this crib I would just have to find the best way to assemble all four sides together in a way that can hold the mattress spring. Here are some pictures of what I have. Thank you for your help.
