West Hartford police are seeking the public’s help to find a 16-year-old girl who went missing on Thursday.

Rachel Goulet told her parents she would be back in 15 minutes when she stepped out of her West Hartford home at around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, according to police. The 16-year-old never returned home.

Police described Goulet as a white female, approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black puffer jacket, blue jeans, black sneakers and a backpack. In her missing photo, Goulet has dark brown hair, but police said she frequently changes her hair color.

Police suspect that Goulet may not be taking her prescribed medication.

In a news release Saturday morning, West Hartford police said they notified other agencies of Goulet’s disappearance. She is registered in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System and has been the subject of a Silver Alert.

The West Hartford Police Department said anyone with information on Goulet should call 911 immediately and contact the West Hartford Police Department at 860-523-5203 or the department tip line at 860-570-8969 or whpdtips@westhartfordct.gov.

“We ask that our community members and the general public immediately contact the West Hartford Police Department with any information that may help us locate Rachel and reunite her with her family,” the Saturday statement from the department read.
