Weld County’s primary crops — sugar beets — are getting ready to head to the beet dumps, however, road construction at the intersection of Weld County roads 13 and 34 will require farmers to take a detour to get their crops to market.

“Our public works crews have worked hard to get this intersection completed by harvest season,” Weld Couny Commissioner Chair Barbara Kirkmeyer stated in a news release. “Unfortunately, the detour will need to remain in place for another few weeks as we complete this job.”

To avoid construction trucks are advised to take WCR 38 between WCR 13 and WCR 17, then turn onto WCR 17 between WCR 38 and Colo. 66 and take Colo. 66 between WCR and 13 and WCR 17.
