One in a series of videos I created for the North Carolina Museum of History’s exhibit – “Behind the Veneer: Thomas Day, Master Cabinetmaker.” In this video, the actor portrays a period Free Person of Color who greets visitors as they enter the exhibit. There were five of these videos in total (each a different character), scattered throughout the exhibit. All appeared as framed daguerreotypes when not playing. When a corresponding button was pushed, the portrait would “come to life” and introduce visitors to a section of the exhibit. To learn more about the exhibit, visit ncmuseumofhistory.org/wgo/press_04122010a.html.

Also, see video of the Virtual Tour Guides in action at flash.unctv.org/ncweekend/7012010_thomasdayexhibit.html. The clip starts around the 3:57 mark.
