The Tommy DeVito craze doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon as the undrafted rookie QB led the Giants to a third straight win defeating the Packers on Monday night.

But a lot of people may not now how DeVito ended up in this position.

DeVito spent five years at Syracuse, where he was benched in his final season with the Orange.

He would ultimately transfer to Illinois for his last year of college football. And, well, the rest is history.

Illini football head coach Bret Bielema joined SportsCenter for a special report on DeVito Tuesday night.

“He’s got the ability to make things happen with his arm but also with his feet,” Bielema said. “I knew if he got in an NFL system that could maximize that, and build around those strengths, he would be successful and that’s what he’s doing.”

DeVito wasn’t even on the active roster to start the season, but he’s made the most of his time on the field.
