Jennifer Shrader Lawrence was born August 15, 1990 in Kentucky. Her parents are supportive of her acting. She often helps operate the camp her mom is director of during the summer if her schedule allows. She enjoys interacting with kids and helping them to learn new skills. She considers herself to be a tomboy, so dressing up in some of her movies or for award galas can be tough for her.
Lawrence enjoys playing a variety of sports. She participated in them all through high school. She also spends time playing hockey, softball, and basketball when her schedule allows. She likes to spend time with farm animals, and has a special love of horses. She is very talkative in her interviews, and in high school she was voted most talkative of the class. Her nickname was Nitro due to her abundance of energy all the time.
She is also very intelligent, and did well in school. If her acting career dreams didn’t work out, she was going to become a doctor. It is very interesting that Lawrence never had any formal acting training. She wasn’t part of drama productions in school either. Her acting roles were all at the summer camp programs.
When she was on vacation in New York with her family at the age of 14, a photographer was quite intrigued with her. She was offered acting roles, but her parents made her finish school if she was going to do so. She put it into high speed and graduated two years early with a 3.9 GPA.
Early in her career, she was an extra in various series shows. They include Medium, Cold Case, and CSI. Her first movie role was on the Bill Engall show in 2007 and that role ended in 2009. She was a strong contender for the role of Bella in the Twighlight saga, but Kristen Stewart was selected due to her amount of acting experience.
While many of her roles have been physical and serious, Lawrence has a very good sense of humor. She enjoys telling jokes and pulling pranks. Jennifer Lawrence has certainly made a name for herself when it comes to acting. She is the lead actress in the Catching Fire Series. Two movies have already been released, with the third to be released in November of 2014. She also plays the lead in the hit Divergent. It is also part of a book series that will have three movies over a span of time.
