National Night Out (NNO) 2019 is scheduled from 4-8 p.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 6, and we invite all of Boulder’s neighborhoods to take part and host a gathering in your neighborhood.

NNO is an annual event that helps to build camaraderie and allows for meaningful conversations in a casual setting while bringing back a true sense of community. Even better, it offers an excellent opportunity to bring together police and neighbors under positive circumstances.

In addition to a visit from members of the police and fire departments, city council members will stop by for a visit if you wish. All registered events will be entered into a drawing to use Boulder’s Neighborhood Block Party Trailer, which offers a variety of games and other items to make the gathering a hit. On top of that, the city’s Neighborhood Services program will reimburse up to $300 for expenses for your party – all you need to do is register your event, fill out a simple reimbursement form and provide receipts.

Please register online by visiting www.bouldercolorado.gov and typing National Night Out in the search bar. Registration is open now through July 25.

National Night Out started in 1984 and has since swept across the nation. It is an annual event in all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canada and military bases worldwide, involving more than 15,000 communities and 37 million volunteers, residents and civil servants.
