A woman apparently threatening to jump onto the 10 Freeway from an overpass in Colton was safely detained Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The incident prompted the California Highway Patrol to shut down all freeway lanes in both directions for about 15 minutes.

The woman was reported outside the fence on the Pepper Avenue overpass a few minutes before 5 p.m. At 5:09 p.m., Colton police sent a Twitter message that the woman was safe and that the freeway lanes would be reopening soon.
